La práctica artística de Gabriel Sánchez-Mejorada se sitúa en la intersección entre memoria y territorio. Su trabajo vincula la ficción, la especulación, el documental y la artificialidad como herramientas metodológicas dentro de sus procesos de investigación y creación, para explorar cómo el arte puede participar en la configuración de la memoria en contextos atravesados por crisis, violencias y transformaciones territoriales aceleradas.
A través de la escultura expandida, la instalación, el video, el arte relacional, entre otros medios, el trabajo de Sánchez-Mejorada se articula en torno a tres líneas de investigación artística: las geoestéticas del territorio frente a las urgencias ecológicas; las violencias contemporáneas y sus regímenes de representación; y las identidades disidentes en tensión con los regímenes de poder.
Gabriel Sánchez-Mejorada's artistic practice is situated at the intersection of memory and territory. His work brings together fiction, speculation, documentary, and artificiality as methodological tools within his research and creative practice, exploring how art can participate in the construction of memory in contexts shaped by crisis, violence, and accelerated territorial transformation. Working across expanded sculpture, installation, video, relational art, and other media, Sánchez-Mejorada's practice is structured around three interconnected lines of artistic research: the geo-aesthetics of territory in response to ecological urgencies; contemporary forms of violence and their regimes of representation; and dissident identities in tension with structures of power.
